The recently renovated Villa Palau is divided into two separate houses and feature a minimalist design of natural materials, with fine rooms and modern comforts. The houses each feature a spacious living room with fully equipped kitchen and the interiors have been lovingly put together. Each house has its own charm for a unique feel-good atmosphere.
The first house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms (6p), in the second house there are two bedrooms and one bathroom (4p). They are located around the swimming pool and have panoramic views, and important to know; they are not rented separately so privacy is 100% guaranteed.
Internet is present and the television has streaming functions. This allows you to watch apps from your phone or tablet directly on the screen of the television using your own accounts. Villa Palau is a unique family home and receives a lot of care and attention.
Adjacent to the garden by the pool are two original bodegas which have been transformed into unique covered spaces including in each an extra bathroom with toilet, a small kitchen and recreation room. All in all, it is a fantastic place to spend vacations together.

Villa Palau is located on the outskirts of the traditional Catalan village of Terrades in the Alt Empordà region of the Costa Brava. Staying in this villa is living outdoors with the utmost privacy. The oasis of tranquility allows you to stay in a unique place and experience impressive, unspoiled nature.
It is surrounded by fields, olive trees and forests and surrounded by two rivers, the Rissec and the Muga. This unique area is rich in flora & fauna but famous for its important cherry harvest. On the way there you can already see the many cherry trees. The attractive town of Figueres is nearby (11km) and for a day at the beach there are popular coastal towns such as L'Escala, Empuriabrava, Roses and Cadaqués. Some beaches offer beach beds and umbrellas for rent and there are beach bars everywhere for a cocktail, ice cream or a tapa.
The location of Villa Palau offers mainly peace and quiet and the surrounding area is characterized by the many hiking and biking trails in nature. However; just 11 minutes away is the prestigious Torremirona Golf & Spa Resort with 18 hole golf course and restaurants. There is also a large sports and wellness center with a wide range of activities and sports for all ages. (Fitness, tennis, spa zone, kids club, hairdresser & beautician)
The area also has other beautiful authentic villages to offer like Besalú and Peralada, packed with sights, narrow alleys with nice stores and old squares with restaurants. There are also numerous vineyards where you can taste the empordà wines.
The nearby town of Figueres is the birthplace of surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. Not only is his world-famous museum Teatre-Museu Dalí worth a visit, this historic town has more surprises in store for you. There are weekly markets (Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday) and the stores and restaurants are open late into the evening. You can eat delicious tapas in Figueres, and the town is full of breakfast shops for a "cafe con leche" with a croissant.
Do you want a day trip to Barcelona? That is also very possible because Villa Palau is located near the TGV / high-speed train station (Vilafant) and this takes you in just 50 minutes to the center of Barcelona. Within 15 minutes you are even in the beautiful old Girona to sniff culture and where you can eat and drink until late in the evening everywhere.
